2025 marks a huge milestone for fans of School of Rock—the beloved film that captured our hearts 22 years ago. To make us all feel a bit nostalgic (and perhaps a little older), two of the child actors from the movie have recently tied the knot, having met on set all those years ago.

Caitlin Hale, who played Marta (aka ‘Blondie’), and Angelo Massagli, who portrayed Frankie (the ‘tough guy’), have been dating since 2016. Over the weekend, they officially became husband and wife in a stunning ceremony on January 4, 2025. The couple, both now 33 years old, invited several of their co-stars to celebrate the big day. However, Jack Black, who starred as Dewey Finn, the musician-turned-teacher, wasn’t present but sent a heartfelt video message congratulating the couple.
The pair had gotten engaged in June 2023 and went all out for their wedding. Co-star Rivkah Reyes, who played Katie in the film, shared moments from the celebration on TikTok. A standout moment for fans of the movie was when Hale and Massagli, along with their former co-stars, danced to Stevie Nicks’ “Edge of Seventeen,” a nod to one of the most iconic scenes from School of Rock. Hale herself described the reunion as a “time capsule moment.”

The couple’s story has a charming twist. Massagli revealed in an interview that he learned Hale was moving to Florida, where he lived at the time, through a group chat with other School of Rock cast members. The two reconnected over lunch, and their bond from childhood quickly developed into something more. Hale soon realized she had found her life partner, telling her friend she would marry Massagli one day.
Their relationship grew stronger over time, with frequent dinners and weekends spent together. “We thought that was kind of it, but we just kept grabbing dinners and going out for the weekends,” Massagli shared. “We were like, ‘something’s brewing here.’”
Fans of the movie were thrilled to see Reyes’ TikTok of the wedding, with many expressing how meaningful School of Rock was to their childhood. One fan wrote, “Y’all have no idea how much this means to me. School of Rock was integral to my childhood,” while another commented, “This is so deeply important to me.”
It’s a heartwarming story of love, friendship, and nostalgia, proving that sometimes, the connections made on set can last a lifetime.
