He got out of the truck without imagining what awaited him…

Thursday afternoon turned into tragedy for a man whose identity has not yet been released by authorities. Around 5:30 p.m., he got out of his truck in a seemingly quiet area, unaware that he was about to meet his fatal end.

Witnesses say the man, approximately 40 years old, parked his  vehicle in front of a small local business in the Santa Elena neighborhood. He had barely taken a few steps after getting out when he was surprised by two men on a motorcycle, who opened fire on him without saying a word.

The gunshots caused panic among neighbors and passersby. “It all happened so fast, we just heard the shots and then saw the man fall,” said a woman who witnessed the events from inside her store.

Paramedics arrived at the scene minutes later, but there was nothing they could do: the man had died instantly from multiple gunshot wounds.

Police cordoned off the area and began their investigation. While the motive for the attack has not been confirmed, initial leads point to a possible settling of scores. Nearby security cameras are being reviewed to identify those responsible.

The community, distraught, demands justice. Once again, violence strikes unexpectedly in an everyday moment, a stark reminder that, on certain streets, death can lurk when least expected.
